Nkhuna and Libisi honoured

MOKOPANE - Mogalakwena municipality officials led by acting municipal manager Merriam Molala and ANC Councilors led by the Mogalakwena Mayor Cllr Andrina Matsemela, ANC members led by Waterberg Regional Secretary Nkholo Tolly Mashamaite gathered with colleagues, acquaintances and family in Soshanguve Block T to bid farewell to Solly Nkhuna, who was the Mayor's driver and bodyguard on 13 May.

On 14 May, they gathered in Bokwidi Village-Bakenberg cluster, Ward 9 to bid a farewell to the Mogalakwena Municipality Cllr Emily Libisi.

During the funeral service in Soshanguve on Saturday, Mayor Matsemala described Nkhuna as disciplined officer who was dedicated, respected and took his job seriously. "Nkhuna was like a younger brother to me, an uncle to my children, he was like part of our family. He was a jolly person, full of laughter and jokes but very professional," said Mayor Matsemela.

At the funeral service of late Cllr Libisi, Mayor Matsemela said, "We gather here to pay our last respects to a gallant fighter, an embodiment of resistance and a humble woman who was had a responsibility of bringing services to the community of Bokwidi and Ward 9 at large."
