Suspects arrested for copper theft

MOKOPANE - Three suspects were arrested for copper cable theft valued at R50 000 by members of the Mahwelereng police and K9 unit last weekend. 

Police received information regarding a white Toyota Tazz vehicle with three occupants relating to cable theft. The vehicle was tracked down and searched. Burned copper cables were found inside the vehicle. The suspects will appear in the Mokopane Magistrate court today (23 January).

In unrelated cases, the Mokopane police arrested 16 suspects over the weekend for charges relating to drug trafficking, theft, fraud, bribery and public drinking. Six suspects paid admission of guilt fines, while ten suspects appeared in the Mokopae Magistrate court yesterday.
