Mokopane Primary School’s principal, Ockert Groenewald, says he is prepared for a new school year with the support of his teachers and three new educators.
One thousand one hundred learners are registered for 2015 says Groenewald and admits it is sad to turn away the many more applications that are still streaming in. “The school is operating at capacity and we are unable to take in any further learners,” he says, adding that his 27 classes are already accommodating 40 learners per class. An extra class had to be created for the remaining 40 learners.
The well-known teacher, Amy van Deventer, has been appointed as the school’s new deputy principal. She will be teaching Life Orientation and Economical Management Services to the Grade 7 learners.
After more than six great years at HPP as the deputy principal she is now continuing her journey at Mokopane Primary School.“Life goes on and I am excited to take on a new challenge,” she said.
