Thembi Emily Mokgohloa is the pride of Waterberg High School after she was selected to represent the Limpopo cricket team.
"I started playing cricket in 2006 when one of the local coaches came to our school asking for children who wants to join their team," she says. "Since 2010 I have been chosen to play in the provincial u/16,u/19 and senior team."
"The interesting part of playing cricket for the province is that you travel a lot around the country and even as far as Namibia," she says, adding that there are many opportunities to act as coach, empire or scorer.
There are also scolarship opportunities.
"Being good at a sport doesn’t prevent  you from having a career or means that you are stupid," she tells fellow learners.
"What you need to do is to work hard and not to listen to people who try to discourage you to do what you are good at."
She says that she believes that God opens the door where there is no door and that nothing is impossible when you have faith.
She enjoys all sports and says that her performance on provincial level is a blessing. "I enjoy it when I work hard and see improvement in my game - it makes me proud of myself."
Thembi thanks her family, Ms Molope, Mr Nkuna, Mr Horn, Mr Strauss for their support. She remembers her late coach (Lizzer) from Mahwelereng Vultures Cricket Club.
