MDA athletes compete in SACSSA Athletics

ERMELO - On Saturday, 27 August 2016, 12 athletes from Mokopane Destiny Academy took part in a SACSSA athletics event in Ermelo, Mpumalanga.

They competed against athletes from High School Piet Retief, Destiny Academy Gateway, Volksrust School of Hope, Ermelo Christian School, ChazonTekna School, Adullam Christian Academy, Mpumalanga Home Schools, Joshua Generation and Ark Christian School. Each athlete returned with at least one medal and nine athletes qualified to take part at the SACSSA nationals.

The results were: Basson Wolmarans (2 first, 1 fourth place), Tiishetjo Mokhonoana (3 second places), Tshepang Mokhonoana (1 first, 2 second, 1 sixth place), Chene Goosen (1first, second and third place),Lesedi Mashishi (1 second, 1 fourth, 1 fifth place), Ruan Goosen (1 fifth, sixth, eighth place), Josua van der Merwe (1 first, 3 second, 1 third place), W.J. Swanepoel ( 1 third,2 fourth places), Albert Brits (1 second, 3 third, 1 fourth place), Samuel van der Merwe (3 first places), Martin Brits (1 first, 2 second place), Pula Magagane (3 first, 2 second places).
