Hier volg hulle program vir die jaar: 6-7 Mei is die VLU kongres by Weesgerus; 14 Mei is Denise Fourie en Riana Bronkhorst van Cansa aan die woord; 30 Mei is daar ‘n kultuur kuier-aand by Nguni Grill saam met Elana Greyling; 18 Junie versier hulle cupcakes/pops en word ‘n borduur demostrasie gelewer; 30 Julie leer die dames hoe om ‘n Bonzai te kweek asook die aanlê van ‘n kruie tuin; 29 Augustus is daar ‘n kuier geleentheid by die Ocean Basket saam met Astrid Basson; 10 September kan jy leer om Sushi te maak; 22 Oktober is die afsluiting. Die Wheels in the Sky motorfietsklub se saamtrek ten bate van die Waterberg DBV was ‘n reuse sukses. Bennie Venter, wat gehelp het om die saamtrek te reel het Saterdagmiddag vertel dat daar tonne kos vir die DBV ingesamel is.

Ho?rskool Piet Potgieter gaan vanjaar weer ‘n wynveiling hou. ‘n Wye verskeidenheid gehalte landgoedwyne uit die Paarlvallei en Stellenbosch gaan opgeveil word. Die wynveiling word op Woensdag 8 Mei in die Pierneefsaal in samewerking met die Ho?rskool Paarl Gimnasium gehou. Sowat 60 lotte (pakke van 6 tot 12 bottels) gaan op ‘n slag opgeveil word. Daar sal ook eksklusiewe lotte beskikbaar wees. Die toegang vir die formele dinee is slegs R150 per persoon. Tafels met tien sitplekke elk kan teen R1 500 bespreek word. Eienaars van ongelisensieerde spaza-winkels in Lephalale word erge boetes opgelê ondanks versoeke aan die Lephalale munisipaliteit om lisensies aan hulle uit te reik. Die provinsiale polisie het verlede jaar opdrag gegee dat alle spaza-winkels wat ongelisensieerd is, gesluit moet word. In Lephalale is verskeie eienaars van dié tipe ondernemings egter ongelukkig omdat strukture binne die Lephalale munisipaliteit nog nie in plek is om lisensies uit te reik nie.

Members of the Bakenberg community recently had the opportunity to voice their concerns over service delivery of the Mogalakwena Municipality through the Waterberg District’s Public Participation Programme. Most of the concerns and frustrations related to the need for water and sanitation projects in the area, the construction of sport facilities to keep the youth out of taverns and for the erection of high-mast floodlights to prevent rape and other crimes at night.
