Crocuta is Arabic for Hyena but there is no hyena on the farm. Instead you may encounter giraffe, impala, wildebeest, zebra, waterbuck or Nyala to name but a few of the wildlife species that inhabit this self catering game lodge. There are five free-standing rooms with en suite bathrooms. Each room sleeps four people preferably two adults and two children. The main building has a fully equipped kitchen, dining area, bar and lounge. In the main building there is also a pool table and dart board. There is a swimming pool, lapa and braai area to enjoy. You can either take a walk or a game drive on the 450ha farm where you will get to see breeding project where there are between 80 to 100 Nyala, they are enclosed in a 70ha camp. To view all the Nyala a feeding is a must see. If you would like to do a bit of shopping there is grocery stores, banks, restaurants in Mokopane 25km away. Polokwane (Pietersburg) about 80km away.

Trompoppies van sowat 10 skole en klubs in Limpopo gaan Saterdagoggend teen mekaar meeding by Laerskool Krugerpark. Die kompetisie word deur die Limpopo Trompoppie Unie aangebied en begin nege-uur die oggend op die skool se rugbyveld. Die laer- en hoërskoolspanne gaan in verskillende afdelings mekaar die stryd aansê. Martie Viljoen, afrigter van Laerskool Krugerpark se trompoppies, sê die kompetisie is die eerste van die jaar en ‘n goeie oefenlopie vir die Suid-Afrikaanse Trompoppie Kampioenskappe wat van 28 Junie tot 6 Julie in Polokwane plaasvind. Die trompoppies van al die provinsies gaan dan teen mekaar te staan kom. Die toegangsfooi vir Saterdag se kompetisie is R5 vir volwassenes en R3 per kind. Almal is welkom om die spanne te kom ondersteun. Daar sal ook ‘n snoepwinkel wees om die eetlus en dors te les.

Lephalale polisie kry broodnodige hupstoot

Met misdaadsyfers wat sedert Januarie die hoogte ingeskiet het, sal misdaadvoos-inwoners in Lephalale die aanstelling van niks minder as 56 nuwe konstabels verwelkom. Die nuwe lede het vandag (Vrydag) vir diens aangemeld in die dorp en sal in die misdaadsvoorkomingseenheid (16), die satelietstasie in Marapong (16), die speurdiens (6), plaaspatrollies (4), sosiale misdaadvoorkoming (2) en die vuurwapenlisensie kantoor (2) diens doen. Daar sal voortaan twee polisie voertuie per skof in al vier polisiesektore aan diens wees.

Die Professionele jagtersvereniging van Suid Afrika (PHASA) het Limpopo premier, Cassel Mathale se opmerking dat die provinsie se multimiljoenrand-jagbedryf beskerm moet word verwelkom. Mathale het verlede Donderdag tydens die opening van die Limpopo-wetgewer gesê daar word voldoende vordering gemaak in die transformasie van die beroepsjasgbedryf in Limpopo. Hy meen die bedryf moet uitgebrei word sodat swart beroepsjagters en werklose mense in Limpopo voordeel daaruit kan trek.

LEPHALALE – The National union of metalworkers (Numsa) met with its members in Marapong on Saturday to discuss issues raised in meetings with Medupi ‘s Management team last Friday. Numsa’s sector co-ordinator for Medupi, Stephen Nhlapo, said feedback from its members revealed that workers are adamant to continue with the strike until their demands are met.

GPF pak dienslewering

Dienslewering en beter betrekkinge tussen die polisie en die gemeenskap is van die sake wat hierdie jaar aandag sal geniet by die Lephalale gemeenskapspolisiëringsforum (GPF). Voorsitter Thys Eloff het by die jaar se eerste GPF vergadering ‘n beroep gedoen op die gemeenskap om meer betrokke te raak. Die vlaag van misdaad wat die dorp getref het sedert die Medupi staking middel Januarie begin het, die polisie se reaksie tyd en hantering van noodoproepe is van die sake wat by verlede Donderdag se vergadering bespreek is. Die volgende GPF vergadering word op 14 Maart by die Mogolklub gehou. Almal is welkom.

R30-million clubhouse nears completion

The new state-of-the-art clubhouse at Legend Golf & Safari Resort (LGSR) near Mokopane is on schedule to open in July, the resort said in a press statement this week. The second – and final – phase of the R30-million building project will see the installation of new locker rooms, with a members’ bar above; a pro shop, with executive meeting rooms and office space; a bush dining facility; and a halfway house. “The new clubhouse will take the golfing experience at the resort to a whole new level and sends out a further message that everything here at Legend Golf & Safari Resort is of the highest standards.
