The ANC in Limpopo officially nominated Deputy President Kgalema Motlanthe to replace President Jacob Zuma as party leader at the party’s national elective conference in Mangaung this coming Sunday. The announcement of Motlanthe’s nomination was made last Thursday, after the first nomination conference had to be postponed when violence erupted between Zuma supporters and those who support Motlanthe.

LEPHALALE - The Lephalale Municipality is taking strong action against businesses that operate illegally in residential areas in Onverwacht. According to ward councillor, Steph Snyders, several notices were given this week to ‘back-yard mechanics’ who fill their premises and sidewalks with broken down motor vehicles.

LEPHALALE - Hendrik Manyeke van Molalatau Sekuriteit het die afgelope paar maande beindruk met sy deursettingsvermoë om ‘n spoor te volg tot ‘n arrestasie uitgevoer kan word. Sedert November kon hy daarin slaag om agt verdagtes so vas te trek. Misdadigers gaan nou ekstra mooi in hulle spoor moet trap, want Manyeke was hierdie week in Thabazimbi vir opleiding met die nuwe toevoeging to Molalatau se sekuriteitspersoneel, ‘n Weimaraner genaamd Miko. Miko is tans die enigste hond in Lephalale wat opgelei is om spoor te sny.

The driver of an Audi narrowly escaped death when he lost control of his vehicle on the new Vaalwater road just outside Lephalale on Saturday evening. Emergency service were on the scene within minutes of the accident and transported the injured driver to Ellisras Hospital. No other vehicles were involved in the accident.

Wanted for fraud

Police are looking for this woman who allegedly defrauded a mother from Mokopane by telling her that she works for the Department of Health and would assist the mother in registering her daughters for a nursing course at Mankweng hospital. The woman told the mother that registration cost amounts to R7 000 per student, so the mother made a R20 000 personal loan and handed the woman R21 000 for entering her three daughters. The children accompanied the woman to Polokwane as she recommended they stay over at her house as the cues for registration were very long. On their arrival at Polokwane the suspect disappeared with the money and left the young girls alone. Anyone who has seen this woman or has any information about her can contact Cst. Another ATM bombed

An ATM in Northam was bombed in the early morning hours of Wednesday 12 December 2012. According to sources, about 10 heavily armed men forced security guards at gun point to vacate the premises where after the culprits used explosives to bomb an ATM. By Wednesday midmorning, a reliable source said that due to the possibility of explosives that haven’t been discharged during the robbery, the bomb squad from Modimolle was on their way. Nobody was injured in the robbery attempt. Damages are still being assessed.

AMT Community Development het in samewerking met die departmente van onderwys en gesondheid ‘n projek geloots om gedurende Novem-bermaand kinders in gemeenskapskole in die Lephalale omgewing se oë te toets. Die projek is moontlik gemaak deur geldelike steun van SPX DB Thermal wat tans by die bou van die Medupi kragstasies betrokke is. Bykans 2 000 leerders van Nelsonskop, Ditheku en Lerekureng primêre skole se oë is deur oogkundiges getoets. Uit die 2 000 leerder benodig 45 brille wat gratis aan hulle voorsien sal word.

Hierdie is 'n goeie geleentheid om daai laaste Kersgeskenke te koop aangesien die skilderye teen bekostigbare pryse afgemerk is. Richard bied ook op Donderdae kunsklasse aan.
