LEPHALALE - Stormskade en rukwinde is moontlik die oorsaak waarom die dak van die Sewendedag Adventiste Kerk in Onverwacht verlede Donderdagmiddag inmekaargeval het. Volgens leraar, David Fitzcharles, is die gebou tussen 12 en 15 jaar oud en was daar geen tekens dat die gebou onstabiel is nie. Intussen wag die gemeente vir die versekeringsassesors om te bepaal wat die omvang en rede vir die skade is. Lidmate sal steeds by die kerk bymekaarkom.

Slaggate veroorsaak steeds groot skade!

Die pad tussen Swartwater en Tom Burke bly ‘n nagmerrie met slaggate wat steeds nie reggemaak is nie. Vrydag 4 November het Sipho Nkadimeng van Louis Trichardt beheer oor sy voertuig verloor nadat hy ‘n slaggat getref het. Sy motor het gerol en meters verder op sy dak te lande gekom.

Suid-Afrika is ’n ontwikkelende land wat energie en werkgeleenthede nodig het.” Dit was die boodskap hierdie week van Eskom aan die media toe Greenpeace International- aktiviste Maandag Eskom se Kusile kragstasie naby Ogies beset het.

LEPHALALE - A crisis meeting to try and avert a march by some ANC members planned for Thursday was held late Wednesday afternoon. Northern News spoke to ANC regional leader, Jack Maeko, who at the time confirmed that the outcome of the meeting between the ANC, Eskom, Lephalale municipality and the Medupi Workers Association would determine whether the march would go ahead as planned. Northern News also received information that the ANC Youth League president, Julius Malema, would address Medupi workers in Marapong after work on Wednesday afternoon and that the town of Lephalale would be closed off at its entrances and exits on Thursday morning around 04h30
