David Palmer, former world no 1 squash player coached 8 SA players for a week with these new techniques. Christo Potgieter attended the coaching and imparted his knowledge and skills to the eager Mogol players. The next coaching clinic will be held later this year on 22 September. Everybody is welcome.
Following the September Clinic, Mogol Squash Club will be taking part in the World’s biggest team match ever on World Squash day on 20 Oct in support of the “Back the Bid” initiative to get Squash included in the 2020 Olympic Games.
World-wide there will be 2 teams, Team Squash and Team 2020. There is no limit to the size of the team. All players play one game, “point-a-rally” first player to 20 wins. At the end of the “Big Match” all scores are sent to the World Squash Day organisers and the winning team will be announced, but more importantly, World Squash will get huge exposure and possibly a Guinness Book of Records entry, and finally be recognized as an Olympic sport.
