Charities win at Bushveld Classic

This year this prestigious golf day hosted and organised by Anglo American - Mogalakwena Platinum Mine earned R180 000 in income from the 54 fourball teams that participated.
With 89 points Andries du Toit, Ceasar Duckworth, Riaan Foordt and Uren Whitehead took first place with the team of Bafokeng Rasimone Platinum Mine in second place with 88 points. Anglo American (Head office) came third and in fourth place was DC Steel Construction. Mogalakwena Mining (3) – fifth, Epiq Industrial - sixth and Senmin International – seventh completed the winners' circle.
Magda Barringer emerged as the Best Lady Golfer for the day and Gibs Kleyn delivered the longest drive on hole no. 9. Erik Holtzhauzen came nearest to the pin on hole 3, Johan le Roux on hole 6, Neville Small on hole 13 and Zane Watson on hole 17.
Mogalakwena South Concentrator graciously and in good humour accepted the award for the team that played the most golf.  With 44 generous sponsors that took care of expenses and prizes that made the day possible, Anglo American - Mogalakwena Platinum Mine was able to donate every cent of the proceeds to the town's charity organisations.
At the awards ceremony on Saturday evening the following charity organisations each received a cheque from the General Manager, James Morotoba: Aletuke Centre for Orphans, CANSA, Centre of Hope, Mokopane Noodforum, Piet Potgieter Monument Old Age Home, Potgietersrus Dienssentrum vir Bejaardes, Rotary Club, Round Table, SAVF, SPCA, Thobela Centre for the Disabled and Thula Thula Baby House.
