Mogol Squash club held its annual squash championships last week. There were a lot of new faces, big excitement and some surprises in the results.
The ladies played a round robin with each lady playing 6 games during the week. Results were:
Lizette Spammer – first, Angie Alverado – second, Ria Botha – third, Natasja Swanepoel – fourth and Adelene Spammer (Junior player) – fifth.
The men played a swiss pairing format with one round every night.
The quality of squash has improved visibly over the last year with a few new members joining. It is also one of these new members who took the honors in the mens section. Results are: Justin Holdsworth – first, Lofty Fourie – second, Brian Holdsworth – third, Manis Shumba – fourth and Johan Henning fifth.
