Barcelona showed Mapharuma flames

Barcelona Football Club’s u/19 side played against Mapharuma FC’s u/19’s in an opening game leading to the ABSA top eight tournament on Saturday at the Marapong sports field.
Maparuma was showing off great skill in the first half, but failed to score. Both teams went to half time on 0-0, but when they came back, Barcelona showed Mapharuma flames. Barcelona was awarded a free kick after a tackle from behind by a Maparuma player. That’s when Desmond Moatshe opened the scoring sheet after a clumsy mistake from the Maparuma goalkeeper that saw the ball bouncing back from the free kick.
Desmond scored his second goal when Thabang Segabetla passed a brilliant cross to him to strike a shot extending Barcelona’s lead. Barcelona player, Kgomotso Moloto, scored with few minutes remaining to full time making it 3-0, giving Barcelona the win of the game.
ABSA also had its top eight tournament and the teams that participated were Maholeng FC, Liverpool FC, Skimzozo, Medupi, Phalala, Exxaro and MEI FC.
Masholeng and Liverpool made it to the final of the tournament were Masholeng won by 5-4 on penalty after a one-all draw on the field. Masholeng FC bagged a top eight trophy, medals and prize money of R2000.  - Tebogo Tlhako
