The Mokopane Gymnastics Club gymnasts competed against all the rhythmic gymnastics clubs within the Limpopo region to qualify for Limpopo colours on 30 August.
“The competition was tough and the girls did very well,” said coach, Marinda Marshall. “Limpopo is filled with great talent - even undiscovered talent - so to get colours is a big achievement.”
Suné Janse van Rensburg finished third with her ball routine, Chanelle Hamilton came second in the free dance, hoop, ball and clubs.
Overall Chanelle achieved second place and qualifies to compete at the South African National Rhythmic championships in Cape Town.
“We are proud of all our gymnasts that worked so hard this year, and we are looking forward to even greater results in the future as we are building and upgrading our club for the benefit of our community.”
The level 1,2 and 3 artistic girls from MGC will compete this weekend at the SA North Zone competition in Kempton Park.
