Medals galore!

Four gold medals, two silver medals and six smiling girls – that is what the Mokopane Gymnastics Club (MGC) brought back with them after their gymnasts excelled at the Northzone SA Gymnastics competition last Saturday.
The girls competed as part of the Limpopo team in the women’s artistic gymnastics (WAG) section in level 1, 2 and 3. The four items include beam, vault, floor and bars. Each gymnast started at a perfect score of 40 and points with points deducted for mistakes. To earn a gold medal the girls had to score more than 35.4 points.
Melody Raats (level 3), Chené Goosen (level 2), Jennezee Vermeulen and Miquyla Venter (level 1) all earned gold medals. Lungile Mhalangu (level 2) and Lesedi Mashishi (level 3) brought home silver.
