MGA ready for 2015

MOKOPANE – While 2014 proved to be a year filled with achievements for the Marshall Gymnastics Academy (MGA), it is ready for the challenges of 2015. MGA trains gymnasts ranging from pre-school up to senior levels.
“Along with our name change from Mokopane Gymnastics Club to Marshalls Gymnastics Academy comes a renewed focus on providing the best possible training,” says coach Richard Marshall.
“Gymnastics is a sport requiring physical strength, flexibility, power, agility, coordination, grace and balance,” he explains, adding that gymnastics improve motoring skills and benefit the overall development of children and young adults.
MGA has a solid track-record and the achievements of its gymnasts certainly prove this.
Top achievements last year include eight gymnasts participating in the SA Gymnastics Games in Cape Town. Mokopane gymnasts performed will with Chanelle Hamilton finishing 19th overall in the Rhythmic Gymnastics Level 6 competition. In the women acrobatic gymnastics section Lize Janse van Rensburg finished 25th overall for level 5 and secured an eight place for her floor series, while Shani Dreyer finished 25th overall as well.
In the mens section, Louis Boshoff finished tenth overall for level 4 (2nd on floor, 3rd on rings), 5th on vault), Johann Strauss was fourth overall in level 4 (3rd on pommel horse, 2nd on vault, 4th on rings), Juandré Ruytenberg  finished 5th overall for level 4 (5th on floor, 4th on rings, 4th on high bar), Samuel van der Merwe finished seventh overall for level 5 (9th on vault, 5th on rings, 2nd on vault, 4th on parallel bars) and Kurt Kruger finished ninth for level 5 (6th on pommel horse, 4th on vault, 9th on parallel bars).
