MGA gymnasts head for SA Gym Games

MOKOPANE – Nine gymnasts from the Marshall Gymnastics Academy (MGA) secured spots in the Limpopo team and will represent the province at the SA Gym Games in Gauteng in October.
The Limpopo Artistic Gymnastic Competition for level 4-7 was held in Modimolle last weekend. Thirteen clubs sent their best representatives to compete and the gymnasts from MGA held their own.
MGA competed against gymnasts from Polokwane, Modimolle, Phalaborwa, Louis Trichardt, Marble Hall, Tzaneen, Bela Bela, Swartwater and Hoedspruit. 
Congratulations to Lesedi Mashishi (WAG 4 – 3rd on Floor and Beam, 6th overall), Melody Raats (WAG 4 – 3rd on U-Bars, 2nd on Beam, 4th overall), Shani Dreyer (WAG 5 – 2nd on Beam, 4th overall), Lize Janse van Rensburg (WAG 5 –  2nd on U-Bars, 3rd on Beam, 3rd overall), Luan du Plessis (MAG 4 – 2nd on vault, 3rd on P-Bars, 2nd on High Bar, 4th overall), Josua van der Merwe (MAG 4- 3rd on Vault and High Bar, 6th overall), Juandré Ruytenberg (MAG 5 – 1st on Floor, P-bars, and High Bar, 2nd on Rings, 3rd on Mushroom, 1st overall), Samuel van der Merwe (MAG 6 – 1st on Floor, P-Bars, High Bar, 2nd on Rings and Vault, 3rd on Pommel, 2nd overall), Louis Boshoff (MAG 5 – 1st on Floor, and Rings, 2nd on High Bar, 3rd on P-Bars, 3rd overall).
Other gymnasts who also competed were: Jodi Knight (WAG 4 – 9th overall), Johan Strauss (MAG 5 – 1st on Rings and Vault, 2nd on Mushroom and High Bar, 3rd on Floor and P-Bars, 3rd overall), Martin Brits (MAG 5– 3rd on Floor, Mushroom, Vault, P-Bars, and High Bar, 4th overall), Kurt Kruger (MAG 6 – 3rd on Rings, Vault, and P-Bars, 4th overall), Jan van der Baan (MAG 4 – 9th overall) and Marnus Ruytenberg (MAG 4 – 10th overall).
