MOKOPANE - There were gymnasts flying through the air at Laerskool Krugerpark on Monday as part of a demonstration to the junior primary learners.
Marshall Gymnastics Academy (MGA) equipped itself with a brand-new tumbling track and made use of its senior gymnasts to show off skills and demonstrate gymnastics as a sport.
The state-of-the-art track is an international standard, inflatable gymnastics floor. Not only does it allow gymnasts to attain a higher skill level and greater technical accuracy, but also ensures safe landings and minimizes injuries. This bouncy floor also secures heaps of fun during training.
Starting 2016, the Academy is coaching two new disciplines. One of these are GymX classes, a recreational gymnastics programme. "It trains strength, agility, power, and flexibility, and if you always wanted to do gymnastics, this training session is for you," says MGA coach Richard Marshall. "Even if you are an adult!"
MGA is also starting tumbling classes in 2016. Tumbling involves somersaults, rolls, flicks, jumps, and flips performed on a tumble track.
MGA invites you to bring your child for a bounce on their new floor and a free evaluation class every Tuesday at 14:00. They are situated on the c/o Geyser and Fourie Street (RET Centre). Contact them on 079 217 8410 for more information.
