Heading for SA Gym Games

MOKOPANE – Six gymnasts from Marshall Gymnastics Academy (MGA) will represent Limpopo at the SA Gym Games in Cape Town from 29 September to 9 October 2016.
The Senior Limpopo Artistic Gymnastics Competition was held at the Kruiskrag Gymnastics Club in Thabazimbi last weekend and clubs from all over the province competed for a spot on the Limpopo team.
Girls coach, Marinda Marshall said hard work brought the gymnasts to where they are, but now they will work to surpass their own best to become what they ultimately dream to be. “We celebrate the opportunity to compete at the 2016 Gym Games and we will work hard to bring the Bushveld’s best to Cape Town!”
MGA was represented by seven senior gymnasts. Their results, in their respective age groups were: Lesedi Mashishi (Level 4) won first place in all her items (Vault, Bars, Beam and Floor) and made the Limpopo team; Melody Raats (Level 4) came 1st on Beam and 2nd on Floor to obtained her Limpopo colours; and Lize Janse van Rensburg (Level 5) finished 3rd on Vault, 2nd on Beam, 3rd on Floor and obtained Limpopo colours.
Jan van der Baan (Level 5) finished 3rd on Rings and 3rd on Vault; Luan du Plessis (Level 6) came 3rd on P-Bars and received Limpopo colours; Juandré Ruytenberg (Level 6) won 2nd place on Rings, 2nd place on Vault and secured a spot in the Limpopo team; Louis Boshoff (Level 7) was 1st on Floor, 2nd on Pommel Horse, 2nd on Rings, 2nd on Vault, 2nd on Bars, 2nd on High Bar, 2nd
overall took his place in the Limpopo team.
