Young gymnasts will the elegance, flow, physical- and mental strength cultivated through gymnastics at the competition. The Mogalakwena community has rallied behind this competion sponsoring great prizes. Gymnasts can win anything from restaurant vouchers to a night's stay at some of the luxury lodges in the area.

The competition starts at 09h00 and everybody is invited to come and enjoy the day. There will be fun activities and food stalls to ensure no one goes home hungry or thirsty.

A new era

This competition will pave the way for an exciting new era in sports development as the South African Gymnastics Federation has embarked on a nation-wide programme to establish gymnastics as a school sport in rural areas. Because of it's centrall location and wealth of gymnastics expertise, MGA in Mokopane will be the central hub from which the Limpopo programme is rolled out.

MGA owner and head coach Richard Marshall will be heading up the Limpopo Gymnastics Hub with his team of qualified coaches who have already started gymnastics training at some schools in the area.

Equipment for the Hub is sponsored by the South African Lottery and will make it possible for Marshall and his team to offer students from various areas and backgrounds top class coaching on modern, new equipment.

“This is very exciting, we have been coaching gymnastics at some schools for the past three years from our own resourses, but now we will be able to share our passion and expertise for gymnastics and good sportsmanship with many more young aspiring gymnasts.”

Marshall has already set up meetings with the various circuit representatives in the area and hopes to start training gymnastics coaches at schools shortly. The official launch is scheduled for May, when more information will be made available.
