THABAZIMBI - The senior and high performance gymnasts at Marshall Gymnastics Academy (MGA) are gearing up to compete for their spot in the Limpopo team in September. Last weekend saw them competing at the Waterberg District Competition for Level 4-6 gymnasts at Kruiskrag Gymnastics in Thabazimbi.

The gymnasts performed well and five will travel to Brits next month to compete against the best of Limpopo. If they qualify for the Limpopo team, they will represent the province at the SA Gymnastics Games, which will take place in Gauteng during the first week in October.

Eight clubs and 110 gymnasts competed in the Waterberg District competition on 18 August. MGA’s rising stars showed the judges what they were made of and all placed. The results are as follows:

Melody Raats (Level 6) – 1st on all apparatus, 1st overall, qualified for Limpopo.
Hannes Raats (Level 5) – 3rd on floor.
Ruan Goosen (Level 5) – 1st on all apparatus, 1st overall, qualified for Limpopo.
