Six suspects arrested for lion killings

LIMPOPO – Altogether six suspects have been arrested in connection with the killing of lions in Limpopo. Several lions has been killed in the past year with the most recent being the death of three male lions at the Letaba River Lodge earlier this month and the death of a lion on Tuesday, 31 January, at Ingogo Safari Game Lodge near Alldays. ​

Lephalale man gets bail after alleged illegal slaughter of rhinos

LEPHALALE – Lawyers acting on behalf of Antonio Xavier Freitas (55) filed an urgent bail application last Friday to have their client released from police custody in Lephalale, after he was arrested on charges relating to the illegal slaughter of seven rhinos on his farm in the Steenbokpan area. He was released on R250 000 bail on Tuesday and will appear in the Lephalale Magistrates court again on 2 March.​

MOKOPANE - Two male suspects, aged 30 and 35, were arrested this afternoon (24 January) after a business man (41) was allegedly robbed of R40 000 amount of cash outside ABSA bank in Thabo Mbeki Street. Police are hunting for at least two more suspects connected to the incident. This follows several armed robberies in December targeting business people either banking or withdrawing money in Mokopane.
